Permanent magnetic belt conveyors from Eriez provide a space-saving solution for moving and elevating ferrous materials in vertical, inclined or horizontal handling situations. The conveyor is suitable for use with components made all or partly of steel, including workpieces, stampings and containers.
The conveyor is constructed with Erium 25, a permanent magnetic material with a circuit. No side rails or wipers are required because of the strong magnetic field, which holds material in the center of the belt. The system prevents sharp scrap or small pieces from getting beneath the belt, saving time and reducing manual handling, the company says.
Designed for space-restricted areas, the coveyor’s 1-5/8" (41-mm) depth fits under dies and at the discharge of many production machines. Standard belt speed is 60 fpm (18.3 m/min.), which can be varied by changing sprocket ratios. Three standard lengths and four widths are available, in addition to custom designs.
