Pascal Engineering Inc.’s new swing clamp model PLA does not require jig fixture modifications to install it in replacement of commonly used clamp brands in the U.S. market. At 0.2 seconds, its actuation speed is said to drastically reduce takt time, enabling machine shops to boost production and complete more product units. Its radial, gothic-arch swing mechanism and durable coating ensures that fewer clamp replacements are necessary, reducing downtime. It features an ion nitride coating to protect against wear from chips and coolant. The ion nitride coating is also smoother, which can also increase o-ring longevity.
The PLA swing clamp is double-acting with a hydraulic pressure range of 500-5,000 psi, and its proof pressure is 7,500 psi. Its clamping cylinder force varies depending on the selected clamp arm length and hydraulic pressure, ranging from 440 to 3200 lbf. The operating temperature is from 0- to 70-degrees Celsius. It comes in three sizes, and it is available for upper and lower flanges, with optional manifold piping or SAE port piping. The full stroke for this clamp, depending on the selected model ranges from 0.57" to 1.16". For fluid, it requires a general mineral based hydraulic oil (ISO-VG32 equivalent).
Pascal Engineering Inc. says it offer competitive pricing and keeps stock of the PLA in the Chicago warehouse to ensure quick lead times.
