The 12,000-rpm spindle provides 87.8 foot-pounds of torque. Rapid traverse speed of the X and Y axes is 36 m/min., and the rapid traverse speed in the Z direction is 30 m/min. Positioning accuracy of 0.002" (without direct scales) can be achieved due to direct coupling in X/Y and no belt drive for backlash. Tools can be changed in 1.3 sec., and cutting speed has increased by 25 percent.
The line features three models named for their X-axis traverse measurement: The EcoMill 600 V features 600 mm of X-axis traverse and so forth for the EcoMill 800 V and EcoMill 1100 V. The machines accommodate workpieces weighing 1,322.7 lbs, 1,763.7 lbs and 2,204.6 lbs, respectively. All three feature a Y-axis travel of 560 mm. An optional chip conveyor can be positioned at the rear or left side of the machine.
