Methods Machine Tool introduces the Nakamura-Tome NTRX-300 multitasking turning center featuring true opposing twin spindles that can be equipped with 8" A2-6 25-hp or 10" A2-8 30-hp spindles. The machine also features a 25-hp tool spindle with 12,000 rpm and full five-axis capabilities with FANUC 31I A5 control. The Y-axis travel measures 10" (250 mm) while the below-center X-axis travel measures 5" (125 mm). The NTRX-300 is available in two models, with 8" (203-mm) chucks and 2.5" (63.5-mm) bar capacity or with 10" (250-mm) chucks with 3.15" (80-mm) bar capacity.
The series features a bed design with a vertical column structure mounted on a horizontal machine bed for rigidity and thermal stability. Machines are equipped with CAMplete TruePath Turn/Mill software as well as Nakamura-Tome (NT) Smart X Operation Software, which offers an operation-level management function to view operator clearance level; a productivity monitor function showing the status, productivity graph and capacity utilization of the machine; and a loading monitor function that provides detailed load information. An NT Collision Guard feature protects against machine collision and includes an air bag function to minimize damage in the event of a collision. Voice guidance, production management and 3D collision check are also included.
