The latest addition to Iscars Picco-MF multifunction drilling and turning tools is the DR-MF. The product is designed for Swiss-type machines; miniature parts; the automotive, aerospace and medical industries; dies and molds; and general engineering applications. For wear resistance, it is hard touch coated with the 60 HRc hardness coating. The company says this coating reduces surface friction coefficient, helps improve chip evacuation and reduces clogging.
Two types of XCMT inserts for drilling and turning feature high-helix cutting edges designed to minimize cutting forces and provide chip control at low feeds. Made from a submicron substrate TiAIN multilayer coating to increase tool life, the inserts can be used on both right- and left-handed tools.
