Sandvik Coromant offers a new range of Coromant Capto machine-adapted clamping units (MACU) for lathe machines. The units can be inserted into the tooling stations of tool turrets to provide compatibility with the Capto coupling. Said to be ideal for both turning and milling applications, the products provide the flexibility to change from one system to another quickly. They also channel high-pressure coolant from CoroTurn HP cutting heads, thus reducing temperatures and improving chip control. The machine adapted clamping units will be available for Mazak, Mori Seiki, Nakamura Tome and Okuma machines.

The full Coromant Capto line is suited for metalcutting operations such as turning centers, machining centers and multitasking machines. Self-centering and balanced by design, the line’s polygon coupling enables it to operate in virtually any situation from low to high speed machines without changing the properties of the balanced spindle, the company says.
