Laser Trackers for Large-Scale Metrology
Eastec 2017: Faro’s VantageS and VantageE laser trackers are intended to provide a good price-to-performance ratio for addressing challenges in large-scale metrology applications.
Faro’s VantageS and VantageE laser trackers are intended to provide a good price-to-performance ratio for addressing challenges in large-scale metrology applications. These applications include, but are not limited to, assembly alignment, part and assembly inspection, machine installation, and reverse engineering.
The VantageS is intended for short-to-long range measurement applications ranging to 80 m, while the VantageE supports short-to-medium range applications ranging to 25 m.
Featuring RemoteControls workflow, accuracy, portability and ruggedness, the VantageS and VantageE make large-scale 3D measurement fast and easy, the company says. RemoteControls workflow simplifies operation laser tracker through advanced mobile phone or tablet control. A mobile device can not only control the movements of the unit, but also provide functions such as live video feed from targeting cameras, assistance in target acquisition and accuracy checks. The systems also include a gesture feature to ease the difficulty of acquiring and locking onto the laser beam. Portability enables the laser trackers to be easily transported between job sites or locations within the factory in a single carrying case. Swappable batteries eliminate the need for AC power and cabling. Industrial-grade wi-fi capability provides reliable, wireless communications. Integration with the company’s Super 6DoF (Degrees of Freedom) TrackArm solution is said to completely eliminate line-of-sight challenges.
