Leaders-In background

Omax Corporation’s 120X JetMachining center is designed for large-scale abrasive waterjet requirements common to aerospace, petroleum and food processing industries, as well as equipment fabricators. Four models are available with lengths of 13, 20, 26 and 32 ft. Each is 10 ft. wide and features work envelopes capable of handling standard domestic and international sheet material sizes.

Featuring a custom drive system with closed-loop, high pole vector drives, the waterjet is said to achieve accurate and precise movement. The Intelli-Trax traction drive also contributes to accuracy. This system enables the waterjet to be used in harsh environments, and it requires little maintenance, the company says. The work table is capable of submersible cutting.

The waterjet incorporates the company’s Intelli-Max premium software, which runs on a Windows operating system. The system can calculate the velocity of a tool path at more than 2,000 points per inch. This enables complete control over the motion of the abrasive jet and enables precise, rapid machining. Additionally, a USB port on the Y-axis bridge allows direct connection to a machine controller and an additional emergency stop/pause button pendant. Motion accuracy ranges to ±0.005". Additionally, the machine does not require tool changes or complex fixturing, which reduces setup time.
