3D Systems will exhibit Cimatron version 13 at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) September 12-17, 2016, at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois.
This major software release has over 250 new features and enhancements designed to meet the unique challenges faced by mold and die makers today. Cimatron can dramatically reduce design time and increase profitability thanks to its high level of automation (as well as fully flexible manual control), powerful dedicated mold and die design functions, hybrid modelling and concurrent design capabilities.
New features and functions of Cimatron 13 include:
-
A totally redesigned user interface for improved productivity that is more intuitive, easy to learn and customizable.
-
A broad range of fast CAD for tooling functionalities including direct modeling, and new mesh operations including the ability to perform hybrid modeling.
-
New moldmaking tools for conformal cooling and gates design, facilitating the quick creation of advanced designs that shorten injection cycle times and prevent part deformations.
-
Separate environments for progressive and transfer dies, enabling accelerated design processes.
-
Faster electrode design using automated solid tools embedded in the electrodes hybrid design environment as well as smart electrode mirroring.
-
A new plate machining solution for fast, efficient and automated programming of mold and die plates and new strategies for pocketing, chamfering and 2D cleanup.
-
New NC measurements on CNC machines allowing validation of the machining process while the part is on the machine as well as new and improved capabilities to boost programming automation and the range of milling and drilling operations.
-
New concurrent design and manufacturing environment.
3D Systems will feature displays in two IMTS booths. North Building, Hall B, N-68 will feature the company’s wide range of design-to-manufacturing hardware and software technologies. South Building, S-9119 will highlight 3D printing technologies.
