Leaders-In background
EPi has developed a mid-temperature black oxide process called Kool-Blak. Kool-Blak is the most recent addition to EPi's line of black oxide products, which also includes Insta-Blak and Ultra-Blak. Kool-Blak is intended for OEM manufacturers who want to blacken parts in-house.

The process operates at a temperature of 225°F, which means no boiling is involved and no caustic fumes are produced. The process is said to be safer for the operator and smut free. The finish protects against corrosion and meets MIL-DTS 13924D.
