Handtmann A-Punkt Automation will display its HBZ Trunnion 80 HMC in an automated setup with a Kuka KR 600 Fortec six-axis robot controlled using a Siemens Sinumerik CNC. According to Handtmann A-Punkt, the automated cell can be integrated into machine concept and production processes, while the Siemens control enables operators to configure and program it without requiring special robotics skills. This makes possible material handling and post-machining processes such as drilling, brushing, deburring and polishing even for parts as heavy as 600 kg in parallel with primary machining.

The HBZ series of HMCs offers options for maximum workpiece diameters ranging from 850 to 1,700 mm. The series is intended for such industry sectors as aerospace, die/mold, automotive and energy.
