Grieve’s No. 966 1,250°F inert atmosphere oven is electrically heated for stress relief of machined steel. The oven offers 18 kW installed in Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements to heat the oven chamber. The workspace measures 24" × 36" × 24". A 1,000-cfm, 1-hp recirculating blower provides horizontal front-to-rear airflow. The oven also is equipped with a 1/2" cellular silicone rubber atmosphere seal and blower shaft seal. A 650-cfm stainless steel blower pulls air through the jacket on the inner oven for cooling.

The oven features all-welded construction in the doorway throat. Interior seams are welded gas-tight, and all wall penetrations feature compression fittings. The 10" insulated walls contain 2" of 1,900°F block and 8" of 10 lbs/ft.3-density rockwool. Other features include an aluminized steel exterior; Type 304, 2B-finish stainless steel interior; and inner and outer door gaskets. The inner gasket seals directly against the door plug, while the outer gasket seals directly against the front face of the oven. An integral oven leg stand is included. The oven also is equipped with a digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess temperature controller and recirculating blower airflow safety switch.
