High Speed Collet Chuck Provides Accuracy, Flexibility
The EBP 5672 collet chuck from Seco Tools is said to combine the accuracy of shrink-fit and hydraulic chucks with the flexibility of a collet chuck for reduced run-out, increased torque and improved productivity.
The EBP 5672 collet chuck from Seco Tools is said to combine the accuracy of shrink-fit and hydraulic chucks with the flexibility of a collet chuck for reduced run-out, increased torque and improved productivity. Designed to maximize clamping force by distributing it equally over the full length of the collet, the device is said to improve rigidity while enabling more aggressive cutting parameters and increasing tool life. The collet chuck is well-suited for milling, drilling, tapping and reaming in industries including aerospace, medical, micromachining and more, and is available in conventional and sealed collet versions in sizes 16R, 16, 25 and 32.
The collet nut features two cylindrical guiding surfaces on both sides of the thread. This feature helps to center the tool and the collet to the centerline of the toolholder. A special thread on the nut helps create a strong, uniform gripping force on the collet and tool shank. A trapezoidal thread nut and the high-precision grind of the collet nut and body ensure even holding pressure and enable the collet to seat firmly and securely within its pocket.
