View MoreThe multi-application, high-performance CoroDrill 460-XM from Sandvik is designed for a range of materials. The micro-grained carbide drill features a coating with a special finishing treatment to reduce the coefficient of friction. The 140-degree point angle is said to be well-suited for multi-application drilling with increased centering capabilities and low-thrust-force design. The strong web design provides cross-sectional strength that, combined with increased flute volume, enhances chip evacuation, the company says.
The drill is available in diameters ranging from 3 to 20 mm (0.118" to 0.787") and lengths ranging from 2×D to5×D (DIN 6537 K and DIN 6537 L). Its achievable hole tolerance is IT8–IT9 with internal and external coolant.
