Now included in Hardinge Inc.'s product offering are a new rotary indexing unit with digital servo control and intelligent drive electronics, a chuck for holding thin-walled tubing and a pneumatic collet block for internal and external part location.
The new version of the 5C rotary indexer expands the existing range of indexers the company introduced in 2004, which are appropriate for use on VMCs and knee/universal milling machines. The systems are fourth-axis control-capable and are compatible with Siemens, GE Fanuc and Heidenhain controls.
With the company’s Force-Limiting step chuck, delicate or thin-walled components can be held without being crushed or distorted—including at normal draw bar force on a lathe.
