Forged Tooth Gears Offered

Presrite offers precision near-net forged tooth gears with integral teeth designed with a minimum stock allowance wrapped around the finished gear-tooth profile. The company offers a variety of forged tool gear types, including spur with 0.040" minimum stock for a light hob cut; spur with 0.008" minimum stock for grinding; helical with 0.040" minimum stock for a light hob cut; spiral bevels with 0.020" minimum stock; and net spur gears and splines to finish size.

The near-net forged tooth gears are said to extend tool life, reduce cycle times and reduce or eliminate rough hobbing. They are well-suited for use in the off-highway, truck, agriculture, automotive, military, railroad, aircraft, oil and mining industries.
