Shunk’s Celsio shrink-fit toolholders offer the flexibility to combine various shrinking chucks and extensions. This minimizes the number of chuck bodies required to provide a range of diameters. The chuck bodies are constructed from special steel that ensures maximum holder life without temperature distortion, the company says. Mounting tapers are ground to grade AT3, Form A.
According to the company, the unit operates with a simple control panel for ease of use. A high-frequency induction coil with 10 kW power delivers fast shrinking for 3- to 32-mm-diameter carbide tools and 6- to 32-mm-diameter HSS toolholders. Cooling within 30 sec. prevents excessive heating of the taper to minimize warping, the company says. Adapters can also be used in cooling units to cool extensions and non-standard heat shrinking chucks.
