Fixtureworks’ AMWF-W and AMWF-L pneumatic clamping locators enable fastening in a wide range of tooling, fixturing and assembly operations, while reducing setup time for machine changeover. Both versions are zero-point systems, which enables quick, precise clamping.
The heavy-duty AMWF-W variety of pneumatic air flex clamping locators, with up to 6300 N clamping force and high precision, are straight or tapered pneumatic pin-type and are paired with receivers for the quick change of fixture or tools within 0.003-mm repeatability. Air assistance eliminates setup time in frequent changeover of fixtures, plates and tooling on automation machinery. The flex locators are available in diameters of 70 to 85 mm.
The AMWF-W ball locking pneumatic flex locators are used in conjunction with AMWF-BU series flex locator receptacles (receivers) for locating and fastening in a wide range of operations. The bushing/receiver, either tapered, straight or diamond-type is centered and clamped when the three balls are pushed out for high locating repeatability. When air pressure is applied, the balls retract into the pin, enabling the pin to be released from the receptacle. Locating repeatability is 0.003 mm, and the locators are available in diameters of 60 to 75 mm.
The AMWF-L ball locking pneumatic flex locator pins are compact in size and used for lighter duty applications with clamping force to 350 N. These pins are also used for locating and fastening in a wide range of tooling, fixturing and assembly operations primarily when the plates are mounted horizontally. The bushing is centered and clamped when the three balls are pushed out for high locating repeatability of 0.01 mm. These flex locators are available in diameters from 40-61 mm.
The AMWF-BU flex locator receptacles (receivers) are also used with AMWF-L series ball locking pneumatic flex locator pins for locating and fastening in a wide range of tooling, fixturing and assembly operations. When air pressure is applied, the balls retract into the pin, enabling the pin to be released from the receptacle. They are available in diameters of 36-44 mm.
