Fixtureworks’ One-Touch Clamping Knobs enable secure locking of a spindle with one-touch action. These spindle-locking knobs are well suited for radial feeding applications (for example, rack and pinion, where the roller does not move) and thrust feeding applications such as leadscrews.

The main feature of these knobs is that they enable secure locking and unlocking of spindles with one-touch operation and without the use of tools. The knobs provide ergonomic comfort and secure holding. Red and blue colors on the knob indicate whether spindle is locked or unlocked. Red indicates caution and unsafe to operate the machine; blue indicates that machine can safely operate in locked mode. A perceptible “click” alert when locking and unlocking the spindle helps notify the user. The housing, boss and base of the knobs are made from plastic and come in either orange or black colors. The insert is made from 304 stainless steel and the package includes one stainless steel socket head cap screw and one stainless steel cup point socket head setscrew.

One-Touch Clamping Knobs are available in 40-mm diameter and 43-mm depth. By pulling the housing until it clicks, the teeth of the knob disengage from the base. Turn the knob to rotate the spindle. By pushing the housing until it clicks, the teeth engage again and lock the rotation of the spindle.

The Fixtureworks spindle-locking knobs are well suited for adjustments of film tension on printing machine, sensor camera position (lead screw application) and adjustments of shooter angle on conveyors, as well as other applications.
