Novacel’s 4226REN film protects metal such as stainless steel during laser cutting. The company says the film is guaranteed not to peel off or form air bubbles during cutting. Stainless steel is also protected from discoloration due to laser cutting. This film can be printed with brushing or polishing directions, as well as cutting patterns, to allow the sheet metal to be cut in a single run. According to the company, the film has an outdoor resistance of 6 months and peels off in one piece without tearing.
The company adds that the film also reduces laser cutting time and maintains surface integrity throughout the mechanical transformation cycle on parts being cut (bending, backing, stamping, forming and more). The film’s material prevents virtually any risk of suction between pieces of sheet metal during automated handling. This film is said to be free of harmful chemicals and recyclable.
