Fast-Acting, Automatic Fire Detection and Suppression Systems
Firetrace systems are designed to quickly and reliably detect and extinguish machine fires sparked by oil-based metalworking fluids, coolants and lubricants.
Firetrace systems are designed to quickly and reliably detect and extinguish machine fires sparked by oil-based metalworking fluids, coolants and lubricants. Common overhead sprinkler systems respond to rising room temperatures by releasing large quantities of water, which can cause significant damage. In contrast, the company’s systems are designed to detect and extinguish a fire inside a machine to reduce or eliminate machine damage, lower repair costs and decrease downtime.
According to the company, the systems are easy to install on new or exhisting machines. They are completely self-contained, require no electrical power to operate and will not interfere with machine operation or maintenance, the company says.
The systems use CO2 or environmentally friendly “clean” fire suppressing agents, which are non-conductive and non-corrosive. They do not contaminate expensive oils or lubricants, and they leave no residue on machines or workpieces.
