Erowa Workholding System Enables Simple Preparation
IMTS 2024: Erowa’s Vise Power Clamp system includes an integrated Z support, status monitoring and a circumferential seal.

Erowa’s Vise Power Clamp (VPC) workholding system was developed to enable manufacturing processes to run reliably. The key components consist of the two VPC chuck sizes (52-mm type and 96-mm type) and the matching VPC chucking spigots. All the workpiece holders that have been prepared with the common 52-mm or 96-mm pitches can be clamped in the matching VPC chucks.
Preparation is said to be simple. Operators screw the VPC chucking spigots directly into the workpiece holder, the fixture or the workpiece itself and tighten it. The clamping technology of the VPC chuck includes an integrated Z support, status monitoring and a circumferential seal.
The VPC chucks can be attached to the machine table directly or through a base plate. Workpiece holders and workpieces are powerfully clamped in the chuck with 15 kN of force. Workpieces can be exchanged within seconds with a repeatability of less than 0.003 mm.
The VPC chucking spigots are made of high-quality hardened steel and have a long lifecycle. The ground functional surfaces enables optimal run-in behavior into the VPC chuck.
