Spectrum CNC Technologies offers its WiBox 1.5 machine data collection and bi-directional CNC machine communication device, which the company says is capable of capturing machine signal intervals as small as 1 millisecond, an improvement over its predecessor.
Designed for use in high-volume, rapid-cycle manufacturing environments, the device integrates multi-DNC software with communication hardware. Multi-MDC/Monitoring is a browser-based real-time machine monitoring system that automatically collects machine output data to an MS-SQL database. Real-time dashboards and production reports display shopfloor manufacturing data, including OEE, cycle, alarm, tool usage and more. The device can be used wired or wirelessly, and enables networking 250 or more machines without running cable. According to the company, the MDC/DNC provides high data rates over long distances, data security and the ability to assign IP addresses to each CNC. The unit also supports special protocols such as Mazatrol CMT and Fagor DNC.
