DMG / Mori Seiki offers the Mori-APT toolpath-based postprocessor as part of its integrated Manufacturing Suite of applications. The universal postprocessor will be available for all Mori Seiki Machines and will work with any CAM software that outputs toolpaths in Mori-APT standardized format, the company says. The software comes with post templates to output NC code for all Mori Seiki machines.

The postprocessor can import the standardized toolpath from virtually any CAM software and generate NC code using the included post template. Customers will need the Mori-APT CLDATA interface-enabled version of their respective CAM software as well as the postprocessor software. CAM software products currently offering this interface include CAMWorks, FeatureCAM, GibbsCAM, Topsolid and Mastercam, among others.

The postprocessor includes additional software application modules such as NC Simulation for virtual machine NC code and collision detection verification, and a “program manager” for sending and receiving NC programs and parameters between PC and machine tools.
