The company says the compact design of its VMC 4H is ideal for lean manufacturing applications. The new vertical machining center is 1400mm wide. Access to the electrical cabinet can be found at the back of the machine. The coolant system and chip discharge are also located at the back of the machine. Features include a Siemens 810D control, linear scales and a spindle chiller. The machine is offered as three, four, or five-axis configurations. Machine travels are 400mm × 300mm × 300mm. Rapid traverse rates of 48 m/min. are standard. The 10-hp BT-40 spindle can achieve speeds as high as 40 rpm to 8,000 rpm.
