The company says this is half of the room taken up by traditional five-axis machining centers. The machine is designed for complex, small-parts machining applications primarily for the mold and medical industries. It features a 40,000-rpm spindle and a two-axis, trunion-style rotary table that uses a direct-drive motor. The machine offers 300 × 300 × 300 mm of X-, Y- and Z-axis travel and tool-to-tool change time of 2 seconds. A Siemens 840D control is standard.
