The lathe features a 6,000-rpm, 7.5-hp (5.6-kW) spindle motor (8,000-rpm available as an option), and offers a rapid traverse rate of 1,181 ipm. Through-spindle bar capacity is 1" (25 mm) in diameter. According to the supplier, the lathe offers straightforward gang tooling and no subspindle for speed. Tool capacity is 4 to 6 ID or OD tools, depending on the workpiece.
The gang-type lathe can be equipped with optional automation systems such as a bar feeder, part catcher and part conveyor. For longer-term, higher-volume automated production, the lathe can be equipped with an eight- or two-pallet gantry-loader-type part stocker capable of handling parts as large as 2" (50 mm) in diameter and 1.5" (38 mm) long.
