View MoreNishijimax cutoff saws, available from Pat Mooney, are said to be capable of completing the work of four to five traditional band saw machines, saving space and improving efficiency. The saws enable operations down to 7 sec. and produce high rpm with minimal kerf and swarf, the company says. Surface finish ranges from 40 to 80 RMS. Cutoff lengths of ½" to 118" and trim cuts of ½" to 1 ¼" can be preprogrammed. Feed rate is 78 fpm, with a cutting capacity of 2 ¾". The machine features a 45-degree slant bed, and the saw head travels on hardened and ground linear rails. Guides provide a six-point contact, eliminating blade wobble or deflection.
