CMMs For Fast Measurements

Share

Leaders-In background

The Premier series of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) includes models from 1 m through 3 m in travel. All models feature carbon fiber on all structural components in the bridge assembly. According to the company, use of this material allows higher speeds and accuracies than any other CMM in its class. Compared to aluminum, carbon fiber composites are up to eight times stronger, two and a half times stiffer, yet still almost two times lighter, say company officials. The new series is available in 24 different sizes with two controller options. The Premier Matrix features the IMS 32-bit On Motion controller including Rapid-Scan capability for touch trigger operation. The Premier Maxxum uses the Renishaw UCC series of controllers and supports continuous analog scanning. All models use the company’s Virtual DMIS software, which provides CAD-enabled measurement including scanning and graphical reporting.
