CAM Software Takes Advantage of Dual-Core Processors
Edgecam 2010 R2 CAM software for solids machining includes performance and memory upgrades to speed up background processing for those using dual-core processors.
Edgecam 2010 R2 CAM software for solids machining includes performance and memory upgrades to speed up background processing for those using dual-core processors. Background Processing allows multiple cycles to process simultaneously, resulting in reduced time to create the required toolpath. According to company tests, the Background Processing function typically reduces toolpath generation as much a 60 percent. Other enhancements include full support for angled head tools in for milling, extensive thread-mill capabilities for turn/mill machines and improved trochoidal machining. The automated CAM software for solids machining reads native design files from all major CAD vendors, retains original design intent through Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR) and supports operations including two-axis milling and turning to complex three- and five-axis machining as well as turn/mill machines.
