Open Mind Technologies USA will present its high-performance HyperMill CAM software for the mold and die industry. Enhancements in the 2014 version include updates to the rest machining function, including improvements to calculation speed and region detection, in both three- and five-axis. Rest machining and other slope-based machining techniques are based on a cached memory approach said to make the operation more precise. The company’s HyperMaxx high-performance roughing strategy, based on the Volumill kernel, enhances core and cavity applications by offering effective roughing with large depth of cut. The procedure also comes back to clean walls near sloped or drafted surfaces. According to Open Mind, the CAM software produces quality surface finishes based on internal algorithms and proper use of machine tool controls.
