Engineered to offer increased durability and abrasion resistance, Mitutoyo America’s Holtest bore gages feature measuring pin contact faces coated with titanium nitride. According to the company, this allows the pins to be made of hardened steel rather than more brittle carbide, providing extra toughness to reduce the likelihood of contact faces being chipped during measurement.
The gages’ three-point design allows measurement in ranges above 8-mm bore diameter. A constant force racket is designed to minimize measurement variations between different operators. Optional extension rods enable measurement of deeper holes. The gages are equipped with a digital display and the ABS (Absolute) scale with absolute origin. This is said to eliminate the necessity to set the origin at every power-on.
