View MoreTakachiho America’s Filstar is a cyclonic filter with an automatic release valve. According to the company, the maintenance-free filter provides service without a running cost or industrial waste. It removes 97.6 percent of 10-micron particulate and 70 percent of 5-micron particulate. It can be installed with grinding, turning, washing and centrifuge machines as well as lathes for continuous contamination filtration. Three drain cup sizes are available, however, the filter can be installed in an automated system that requires no manual labor. According to the company, maintaining contaminant-free coolant extends machine tool and filter life.
The filters are custom-designed for users’ desired pump flow rates. For the filters to operate, pumps need to maintain an inlet pressure of 29 psi (0.2 MPa) and pressure needs to be able to drop from the outlet by 29 psi (0.2 MPa). Coolant needs to be below 2.5 cP viscosity.
