View MoreTecnara Tooling's MST angle heads are designed for 90- and 45-degree applications as well as invariable-angle applications. The angle heads combine high-speed capability with accuracy ranging to 6,000 rpm with 0.0002" TIR at the cavity. A through-body coolant system cools the body and simultaneously splashes the cutter to increase tool life and machining efficiency. The angle heads also feature machined cast iron housings; hardened, precision, spiral-bevel gears; and precision, angular-contact ball bearings.
The angle head’s modular design provides complete interchangeability among various shanks and heads, making it well-suited for short-run jobs, the company says. They are available with 2", 4" and 6" extensions as well as a variety of projection lengths and collets. Miniature angle heads are also availabe for tight-space applications.
Rugged and compact fixed-angle heads are available for heavy-duty applications. By changing positioning accessories, they can be switched among machines with the same taper and flange. Fixed-angle heads are equipped with an orientation ring and key, and they can be set for any cutting direction. A 90-degree fixed angle is standard. Custom configurations are also available.
Flange angle heads are bolted onto the spindle face for maximum rigidity. To change them among same-taper machines, users can change the mounting plate. The heads are available in three angle-shaft configurations: collet-chuck, BT30 and CAT40 master-holder type.
Compact and hightweight Half angle heads are designed for drilling, tapping and light-duty milling applications. They can cut from 0 to 360 degrees, and are available in CAT40, CAT50, BT30, BT40 and HSK63A flange configurations. Half Universal angle heads offer the same features and benefits as the standard Half heads, plus the ability to cut from invariable angles ranging from 0 to 360 degrees, and 0 degrees ±120 degrees. They are available in CAT40, CAT50 and BT40 flange configurations.
