The Newton series of air filtration systems from Losma is designed to remove neat and emulsion oil mists and smokes, as well as dry dust produced during metalworking. Suited for larger machine tools, the modular units can be connected to additional units to create a centralized system. Newton 3 and 6 sizes are available with flow rates ranging from 1 to 6 m3/hr.
The series includes three models. The Newton static filtration group is designed to remove mists, smokes and odors produced during metalworking from the air. It comprises a compartment containing the filters, a soundproof box with a fan and an oil-recovery valve. This group is equipped with Losma’s Green ecofilter made with natural fiber.
The Newton E electrostatic filter is designed to remove pollutants generated from the use of neat or emulsion oils. It is effective with both solid-type oil combustion smokes and liquid-type micro-mists, as well as dusts produced by industrial processes.
The Newton D filtration module filters dry dust and smokes derived from dry machining. It features a compartment containing the filter cartridges, a soundproof box with fan, a dust collection tray and a compressed air-cleaning system for the cartridges, enabling re-use.
The filtration systems are suitable for use in welding, plasma and laser cutting, machining center, grinding, gear cutting and milling applications. They can be used with HEPA filters for filtration levels of more than 99.95 percent, the company says.
