The Preci-Flex system of adapters allows turning center users to apply standard tools to mill/drill operations, end milling, tapping and shell mills. Collet chucks can be adapted to reduce overhang and tool interference. The basic adapters accept standard collets in either ER 25, ER 32 or ER 40 pocket configuration. These adapters fit into the pocket of the system’s basic holder in an axial or radial configuration for fixed and live tools. According to the company, certain turning center OEMs have converted to this system to reduce setup times and are experiencing short setup cycles by presetting tools off the machine for a quick change-over on the machine.
