Cutting tool manufacturer Walter North America is working to integrate Valenite into its corporate structure as a competency brand alongside Titex and Prototyp. All units of Valenite (Madison Heights, Michigan) are expected to be moved into Walter’s Waukesha, Wisconsin headquarters by January 1, 2010, with the exception of manufacturing, which will be fully integrated by mid-year. Muff Tanriverdi, president of Walter North America, will be responsible for the combined operations.

In addition to an established reputation in North America, Valenite brings an offering of indexable cutting tools that complements Walter’s portfolio of carbide and PCD insert tooling for turning, drilling and milling, the company says. For customers, this means potentially lower procurement costs, the company says, as all such tools as well as Titex drilling products and Prototyp threading and milling cutters can be ordered from a single source. It adds that the integration will also provide expanded technical service and support.
