Trumpf Buys SPI Lasers
Machine tool and laser manufacturer Trumpf has assumed control of SPI Lasers, a designer and manufacturer of optical fiber-based lasers for material processing applications. The bid became effective after SPI shareholders approved the sale of more than 90 percent of the companies shares to Trumpf. The company says SPI’s broad product range will complement its product portfolio, and it plans to maintain and expand the merchant laser sales channel established by SPI.
