Leaders-In background

Okuma America Corporation (Charlotte, North Carolina) has announced the addition of a new member to Partners in THINC: the THINC Developers Group, which provides the company with feedback from developers and end users to assist in the continuous development of THINC technologies.

The group focuses on de facto computer architectures in the machine tool environment. It is said to provide a community for generating ideas, collaboration, promotion and support of THINC-related technologies for its members. It also facilitates THINC user education through Web-based events and user conferences open to all interested parties.

The group currently has two applications available for free download at okuma.com/thinc/thinc-apps. One is a barcode select program that enables users to download ready-to-run part programs by scanning a barcode. The other is a variable picture application that automatically displays helpful images, triggered by variables in the part program, while the program is running.
