Stratasys (Minneapolis, Minnesota), a producer of additive manufacturing systems, has acquired SolidScape, a manufacturer of 3D printers serving investment casting applications in the jewelry, medical, dental and industrial markets. The company’s technology produces patterns used to cast precise metal parts with fine details and smooth finishes.
 
The acquired company will operate from its base in New Hampshire as a wholly owned subsidiary of Stratasys. Product development will proceed with the goal of producing systems that target new applications.
