Software Developer Hits Sales Milestone
Software developer Celerative Technologies says it has sold 1,000 seats of high speed machining software faster than any other company. The milestone was reached with the sale of the company’s VoluMill plug-in toolpath engine to Mastercam user Advanced Machining Services (Bend, Oregon).

Software developer Celerative Technologies says it has sold 1,000 seats of high speed machining software faster than any other company. The milestone was reached with the sale of the company’s VoluMill plug-in toolpath engine to Mastercam user Advanced Machining Services (Bend, Oregon).
VoluMill,a CAM-neutral toolpath engine designed for use in place of traditional roughing methods, is designed to ease programming, reduce cycle times, extend tool life and reduce stress on machine tools. The software allows programmers to determine and use the optimum material removal rate for any combination of part geometry, material, machine and cutting tool, the developer says.
“Reaching this milestone as fast as we did says a lot about our product,” says Larry Lynott, Celerative’s vice president of sales. “We did it with no advertising in the worst business environment imaginable.”
