Robert B. Mlakar has been appointed president of machine tool supplier SMCTL. Based at the company’s technical center in City of Industry (Los Angeles), Mr. Mlakar will be responsible for sales, marketing, customer support and technical services in the U.S. market.
During the past 33 years, Mr. Mlakar has served as president of the InterCore Group, which is composed of machine tool distributors Methods Machinery (Cleveland, Ohio), Machine Tool Corporation (Indianapolis, Indiana), Excel 2000 (Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee). He has also served as an officer and board member of the American Machine Tool Distributor Association and served as chairman of that organization in 1993 and 1994.
