Heinz-Dieter Schunk, CEO of Schunk, was awarded the German Machine Development Prize at the third German Machine Development Summit in Berlin last October. At the summit, an independent jury of experts in business and science recognized Mr. Schunk’s lifetime achievements. Under his management, a small garage business in Germany grew to a global provider of clamping technology and automation with 1,800 employees.
Every other year, top decision makers of the German Machine and Plant Development Organization meet in Berlin to determine the winner of this award. Mr. Schunk is the third recipient, joining Professor Dr. E.h. Berthold Leibinger of machine tool builder Trumpf and Dr. Dieter Kress from tool specialist Mapal.
