Rockford, Illinois Names Ingersoll Manufacturer of the Year
Rockford, Illinois’ Chamber of Commerce has declared Ingersoll its 2020 Manufacturer of the Year on account of its commitment to advancing industry.
Rockford, Illinois’ Chamber of Commerce named Ingersoll Machine Tools Inc. its Manufacturer of the Year in a virtual event and ceremony presented by Illinois Bank & Trust. The event’s “Future-Ready Manufacturing: Thriving in a Fast-Changing World” theme compliments the various ways Ingersoll contributed to the community – and especially its growing and diverse customer base – in 2020.
“It is a great honor and achievement in a community filled with manufacturing companies,” says Ingersoll CEO Chip Storie, who accepted the award. “In what has been a challenging year, we relied upon our talented employees to stay focused on delivering the highest value solutions to our customers.”
Ingersoll presented the committee with a list of accomplishments and initiatives that included work for critical space and defense programs, an extensive product portfolio that serves various technologies and industries and a dedication to using data to advance manufacturing.
“We have to expand to support the demands of our customers,” continues Storie. “The success that we found in 2020 now brings us the opportunity to bring even more people onto our team in 2021.”
The company recently announced that it will expand both its assembly facility and its contract manufacturing business. The 50,000 ft2 expansion will break ground in early 2021, alongside the launch of a modernization effort that will further increase capacity and employment levels.
