OSG Corp., headquartered in Japan, and Haimer GmbH, Germany-based parent company of Haimer USA, signed a strategic partnership and licensing agreement in April 2015 enabling the OSG Group to offer its round end mill cutting tools with Haimer’s Safe-Lock pull-out protection system. The partnership comes at the end of several months of testing various systems for pull-out security, according to OSG.
“Our field testing proved that the combination of our end mills with Safe-Lock resulted in higher rpm and feed rates, even with difficult-to-machine materials,” says Jiro Osawa, OSG technical managing director and CEO, North America. Mr. Osawa explained that Haimer’s system was also chosen because of its availability in various clamping methods.
