The National Tooling & Machining Association (NTMA), a metalworking trade group, has announced plans to relocate its national headquarters to Independence, Ohio. The 2009 NTMA executive team says the relocation will strengthen the association by reducing operating costs, improving accessibility to members and increasing potential of its “One Voice” political advocacy coalition for American manufacturing.
The new headquarters also houses the Precision Metal Forming Association (PMA). The move was made possible when the two organizations joined forces earlier this year to create the “One Voice” coalition. NTMA says the effort has shown that the two organizations can work together on common issues, and that doing more work together will make each stronger.
The two associations will maintain their separate identities but share common staff duties. The plan is to create a new organization that will manage common staff positions, such as meeting planning, customer service, accounting, clerical and others to save on overhead costs.
