Nikon Opens New Tech Center

Nikon Metrology recently hosted more than 100 metrology and manufacturing professionals to introduce a new Technology Center at its American headquarters in Brighton, Michigan.   Brighton Mayor Ricci Bandkau was on-hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and Gary Vasilash, editor-in-chief of “Automotive Design and Production” keynoted with an address on the state of the automotive industry. (“Automotive Design and Production” is a property of Gardner Publications, which also publishes “Modern Machine Shop.”)   With the theme “Advances in Industrial Metrology,” the opening event offered technology overviews and demonstrations of various new and updated products.

With the theme “Advances in Industrial Metrology,” the opening event offered technology overviews and demonstrations of various new and updated products. These included the HN-6060 multi-sensor metrology system, the BW-H501 3D surface profiler, the MMDx laser scanner, and the ShuttlePix, a portable, digital microscope. Attendees also viewed customer presentations from Arizona State University and Joe Gibbs Racing.
