Shigeyuki Sasaki has been appointed the new president of Mitutoyo America Corporation (Aurora, Illinois), a supplier of measurement and inspection products.
 
Mr. Sasaki has served in numerous roles within the company for the last 35 years. These include work in the New Product Development and Quality Control Departments in Utsunomiya, Japan, as well as stints as manager of purchasing and planning at the company’s location in Germany and as general manager at its location in South America. More recently, he served as vice president and executive vise president of Mitutoyo America.
 
He succeeds Mikio Yamashita, who served as president of Mitutoyo America since 2006. Mr. Yamashita will continue his career at the company’s corporate headquarters in Japan. John Westhaus, formerly vice president of capital equipment sales, will assume Mr. Sasaki’s former role of executive vice president.
