Leaders-In background

The National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute (NAMII) has issued its second call for additive manufacturing applied research and development projects. The request for proposal is limited to five technical topic areas with subset focus areas. Proposals can address one or more technical topic areas, but must address all evaluation criteria. Topic areas include design for additive manufacturing, additive manufacturing materials, process and equipment, qualification and certification, and knowledgebase development. The process is open to all organizations partnered with an NAMII member who submits the proposal on behalf of the partnership. Email notices of intent to submit are due September 27, and proposals are due October 31.

In other news, NAMII has recently welcomed five new members. Stratasys will join the organization as a lead member, while ASM International, North Carolina State University, the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, and Venture Plastics will serve as supporting members.
