Machine tool builder Mori Seiki announces that it has become a member of the AMT-The Association For Manufacturing Technology. Founded in 1902, AMT represents and promotes the interests of American providers of manufacturing machinery and equipment. Its goal is to promote technological advancements and to act as an industry advocate on trade matters to governments and trade organizations throughout the world.

AMT’s eligibility requirements include the domestic production of at least one product line of power-driven manufacturing machinery. Mori Seiki’s qualifying product line-up was developed by the company’s Machining Technology Laboratory (MTL) and includes the Spinning Tool, Hydrogage, Adaptive Balancer, Zerochip, Grind Hardener and Grill Tool.

Founded in mid-2006 at Mori’s North American headquarters in Chicago, MTL was developed to enable the company to partner with its users in order to systematically explore new concepts made possible by advances in machine tool design.
